Aim: To increase the production speed of a micro-3D printing system by replacing LED light sources with laser-based technology.

Brief description: The Photosynthetic project focuses on advancing micro-3D printing by integrating laser-based light sources into its volumetric micro-lithography system. The current prototype uses high-power LEDs, but transitioning to laser technology is expected to enhance illumination power by up to 100 times, resulting in a 10x improvement in printing speed. This development will enable the design of a production-ready lithographic system for commercial applications in fields like microneedles and microfluidics.

Benefits: The use of laser light sources will significantly boost production speed, making the system more viable for serial production of complex microstructures. This innovation will facilitate the development of advanced microfabrication technologies, providing scalable and efficient solutions for industries that rely on high-precision micro-components.
